JPMorgan Chase Control Manager - Connected Commerce Experiential Journeys - Vice President in Columbus, Ohio

Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) - Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment through a joint accountability model that align control managers with each line of business, function and region to mitigate operational risk. As a Control Manager for Experiential Journeys, you'll be responsible for leading and building out an enhanced control framework which supports a continuous and integrated approach to risk assessment. Key areas of focus will be partnering with the Digital Channels organization on driving customer engagement through our Chase.com ecosystem. This includes managing Card and Connected Commerce prioritization, process, and overall strategy for existing Digital Channels assets such as nudges as well as partnering on new initiatives. Additionally, you will ensure the team assists in top down risk analysis, control design & evaluation, real time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis and remediation.

Given the multitude of stakeholders and matrix nature of executing strategies and launching capabilities across Card and Connected Commerce, the ideal candidate is a strong communicator, strategic marketing thinker, has excellent project management skills, is data-driven, and is a terrific collaborator who can work across the leadership team to action on key deliverables, synthesize and articulate strategic updates, bring together experts to solve issues and define clear next steps.

As a Control Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the Business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation. Also, you will assist the Exam Oversight and Control Manager with a caseload of external examinations in adherence to protocols established for pre-exam preparation, onsite facilitation and post-exam processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business' risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks

  • Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols

  • Execute established exam protocols, issues management, reporting, database administration, and document control activities in accordance with Exam Oversight and Control

  • Plan and provide structure to a program objective with or without precedent (including execution framework, roles & responsibility definition, risk mitigation) based upon targeted business outcomes, dependencies, and stakeholders

  • Oversee key projects for the Card / Connected Commerce book of work, tracking progress and measures of success, keeping a regular backlog of needs, and overseeing new integration opportunities with the channel's teams

  • Exhibit critical thinking in establishing a project plan (with key steps/milestones) and backlog. Draw conclusions, identify risks and gaps, pinpoint dependencies, and opportunity areas

  • Establish an ongoing governance model (e.g., working routines, tools, forums) to monitor and communicate progress, escalate issues, and prioritize trade-off

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

  • 7 years+ of marketing, project management and/or strategy experience

  • Experience in consumer financial products with background in audit, compliance, controls, operational risk management, quality assurance, and/or regulatory/investor requirements

  • End to end program delivery experience - including understanding of best practices, tools, and processes

  • Familiarity with agile practices and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Teams). Advanced skills in MS PowerPoint and Excel

  • Proven ability to lead multiple efforts - addressing issues in a timely manner ensuring least impact on timelines and overall risk; organized, structured work style

  • Proven ability to manage a team through ambiguity typical of a large-scale business initiative and define path forward. Self-starter and focused on driving results

  • Disciplined, delivery-focused, detail-oriented individual with propensity for continuous learning and able to work well with multi-cultural teams
