Polaris Industries Maintenance (Mechanical) in Elkhart, Indiana

Mechanical Maintenance Employees will be required to:

  • Strictly follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on machines

  • Perform minor and major overhauls to equipment by completely disassembling, repairing, and reassembling equipment to proper operation conditions

  • Perform corrective maintenance and troubleshooting equipment utilizing diagnostic equipment and programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) as necessary

  • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances

  • Participate in new equipment installations by interfacing with equipment vendors, contractors, and assisting engineers

  • Testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, and voltmeters to ensure proper operation and safety of system

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Flexible, performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Has demonstrated the ability to continuously stand, walk, reach while frequently crouching, bending, & climbing throughout the workday

  • Has demonstrated the ability to work in a non-airconditioned environment

  • Has demonstrated the ability to professionally work with team members, Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and Engineers to achieve daily work targets

  • Knowledge of how to use and repair all standard air and hand tools

  • Knowledge of how to read tool schematics, blueprints

  • Has demonstrated the ability to perform 3 phase wiring and trouble shooting

  • Has demonstrated the ability to work with Motor Controls and PLC's (programming, replacement, maintenance)

  • Has demonstrated the ability to step in and lead the work area when required

  • Has demonstrated the ability to understand importance of following work instructions to compete the daily work targets with zero defects for at least the jobs in their respective work area. This includes performing some rework.

  • Has demonstrated the ability to communicate in a technical manner. Web based and one on one communication

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Able to learn or prior experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and pneumatics

  • Training in ARC flash and lockout

  • Will be certified in forklift, boom lifts, scissor lifts

  • Has demonstrated the ability to quickly adapt to changes in responsibility (work duties) processes, procedures, or work schedules.

PPE Requirements

  • Safety glasses & shoes when inside production areas.

  • Welding Helmet.

  • Hearing Protection.
