[Qualifications: Associates Degree in accounting, finance, or public administration plus 3 years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CCMC certification by State of CT preferred or obtained within reasonable period of time.

- Collects current and delinquent taxes;
- Prepares tax bills for collections; arrange payment plans; mail lien notices;
- Balances tax collection rate books with Assessors grand list;
- Prepares annual reports to the state and to the Towns auditor;
- Reviews, interprets and implements relevant laws, regulations, and ordinances;
- Record keeping, assist citizens; prepare reports and reconcile with the Finance Dept;
- Oversees water and sewer usage and assessment collections; supervises Revenue Collection Assistant.
- Confers with banks, Motor Vehicle Dept., Town officials, and taxpayers to provide information and to resolve problems and complaints.
- Must have good knowledge, skill and ability of tax collection and accounting principles and practices; of tax collection laws, regulations and ordinances; considerable skill in business math.
- Must provide a high level of customer service.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation suitable for bonding for municipal collections work, become and remain bonded throughout employment in this position.
